Even in ancient Egypt, women adorned their nails, but embellishing it differed from that of today. Prolonged nails in colors from gold to ivory, were a symbol of wealth and high social position. Over the centuries, such a belief prevailed among women the Far East, and their nails were longer, the higher the status of the wearer.

Today, women decide to extend their fingernails, to feel more feminine and attractive, but not everyone may realize that to do so through the industry ... dental.

For the acrylic nail extension occurred by chance, when in 1955 the dentist Frederick Slack, one of the pioneers of research into artificial filling a tooth, broke a nail. Their "invention" found a home in the market and so we started to write the history of the company known today as the Nail Systems International - NSI. 60th Years and 70 Slack brothers have passed on the development of the method of gel and acrylic. The natural course of things had to be the creation of competitive firms that sniffing an opportunity to earn money began to grow like mushrooms after rain, but that NSI, as the undisputed pioneer of research into a new branch of industry, has remained a leader. It is also worth noting that the current name of the company was formed in 1991, when the company started its global expansion.

At the beginning of its existence, acrylic nails quickly grown in popularity, but because of the inadequacy of such extension as well as the material used for this purpose, only few could afford it. Acrylic zastygał in a few seconds, sawing it was a veritable torture for both client and stylist, not to mention that lasted for hours. Add to this odor and damage to the tiles, it is hardly surprising that over time, think about acrylic nails started to fall. There were also cases of severe allergies and other skin ailments. After a series of studies found that the cause of this acute reaction is one of the main components of the monomer - methyl methacrylate. This was a critical moment for the entire market of artificial nails, which required an immediate response, and so began a frantic search for a safe substitute. I was able to - a worthy and even better was the successor of ethyl methacrylate. Besides, it is completely safe, no problems with filings, nails look more natural thanks to him and are even stronger. Finally, in 1974, banned the use of methyl methacrylate. Over the years, the composition of the styling has changed, so as to shorten labor and reduce the cost of services.

Over the 55 years since, at any rate, the accidental discovery of the industry has developed to such an extent that the world championships are held, workshops, training courses on various techniques for maintaining, issuing certificates for the profession, developed (and even patented!) a prolonged nail shapes, courses are conducted, and the products and companies associated with professional styling is not able to count one. What's more, the training and presentations with the best in the industry, people are willing to spend the amount of up to several hundred euros. Who knows, maybe one day rise to higher school styling - oo, I'm even a good name - Styling College.  

And who would have thought that the 1 cm ² will be the subject of such interest?
