Primer - a product for acrylic and gel enhancements. Primer prepares a natural nail plate for extending.

Before applying it, the plate should be filed slightly and dehydrated. During every nail stylization course you will be informed what products besides primer should be used to prepare the plate.

It is important to use primer, though some do not do it and claim their nails are durable. Primer dries out quickly which enables a stylist for immediate application of a form under the plate. One can also apply primer before applying lacquer or strengthener.

Primer dries the plate out, so once-a-month of non-acid primer application is enough unless you want a lacquer to last long. Primer does not damage nail plate or dry it up extremely. Nail stylization, in general, is not harmful for your health nor deadly is liquid's smell.

Besides choosing between acid and non-acid primer one can also buy primer with a brush (lacquer-like) or in a pen. I prefer the lacquer-like one, but the choice is up to you.

To sum up, artificial nails will not persist long if the plate will not be prepared properly but, as I have mentioned above, the choice is yours. On the other hand if your client is willing to wait a few hours (and spend fair money!) until his nails are done he needs to be sure that they will last long.

Extend as much as you can!
