It is one of nail plate diseases. The yellowish shade might also occur on extended nails though it will not be related to any disease. In the following article I am going to present signs, causes and methods of treatment.

The signs of the disease are:

Yellowish nail plate, which can also become orange, brown or green. Nails are thick, they grow slowly, onycholysis (nail separates from its bed) may sometimes occur or even adenoid swelling. The disease may also affect feet nails. The above-described symptoms may also resemble some other diseases, that is why it so important to consult a dermatologist.

Causes and treatment:

The cause of the disease may be liver damage, which should be treated with medicine prescribed by a doctor as he is the most proper person to take care of the treatment. You can also consult your manicure/pedicure technician if you notice any odd colour on your extended nails, but it does not necessarily mean that the extension is the cause ? anyone who gets his nails extended should check them from time to time.
